Dr. Rashmi Saluja, participated as a Special Delegate from India at Africa Energy Week (AEW) 2025, held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, South Africa. The five-day summit brought together nearly 7,000 global stakeholders, policymakers, investors, and industry leaders to deliberate on Africa’s evolving energy landscape, with discussions spanning hydrocarbons, renewable energy, investment, and the continent’s long-term energy security. Dr. Saluja’s participation reflected India’s growing commitment to building meaningful and sustainable partnerships with African nations.

Throughout the summit, Dr. Saluja engaged in high-level discussions on opportunities for India–Africa cooperation across clean energy, energy infrastructure, hydrocarbon development, and non-defence nuclear energy. She highlighted India’s capabilities and experience in supporting Africa’s energy transition while emphasising the importance of technology, investment, innovation, and knowledge-sharing in addressing the continent’s growing energy needs. Her engagements reinforced the potential for deeper collaboration between India and Africa in developing resilient and sustainable energy ecosystems.

A key engagement during the summit was Dr. Saluja’s extensive interaction with Mr. NJ Ayuk, Chairman of the Africa Energy Chamber, with whom she exchanged perspectives on Africa’s long-term energy roadmap and avenues for stronger India–Africa collaboration. Their discussions explored opportunities in clean energy expansion, non-defence nuclear technologies, investment, and institutional cooperation. The interaction highlighted the significant potential for joint innovation, strategic partnerships, and sustainable investment to contribute to Africa’s energy future while further strengthening the economic relationship between India and Africa.
